The Artistic World of Wadi Rum

Wadi Rum – a modern work by Laure-Anne Sarron inspired by the famous Wadi Rum desert in Jordan, highlighting the rocky landscapes, light and meditative atmosphere.

Painting created in acrylic on very high-quality paper (ARCHES mill). The work belongs to the Horizons series and seeks to capture and synthesise the colours of a place, where each piece is the result of an intimate journey across the world. In this work, it is the hues of the Wadi Rum desert in Jordan that are condensed. 

A horizon line crosses the surface, dividing two fields of colour: that of the power of the reddish sand, contrasting with the brightness of the sky at nightfall. This line acts as both a trajectory and a boundary: it suggests passage and crossing whilst marking the limit.
