The Artistic World of Lumen

Lumen is part of the Chromie series, which explores colour through oil painting.

Using a limited palette of white, ochre, burnt sienna and a deep ultramarine blue, this work seeks to make colour burst forth in order to extract light from it. Like a mosaic of traces, each brushstroke is added, blended and merges into the colour, creating a luminous, shifting fabric.

This abstract work evokes the morning mist of a winter in Florence, enveloping the city’s rooftops in a fragile yet intense light. It captures a fleeting memory where atmosphere takes precedence over form.
