The Artistic World of Bordeaux

Bordeaux – a modern work by Laure-Anne Sarron inspired by the famous city of wine: Bordeaux, showcasing the city’s colours.

Painting created in acrylic on very high-quality paper (ARCHES mill). The work belongs to the Horizons series and seeks to capture and synthesise the colours of a place, where each piece is the result of an intimate journey across the world. In this work, the hues of Bordeaux – a historic city of character and the world capital of wine – are condensed.

A horizon line crosses the surface, dividing two fields of colour: the powerful purple-red, a tribute to wine, which contrasts with the luminosity of a summer sky tinged with yellow, lending the city an almost unreal atmosphere. This line acts as both a trajectory and a boundary: it suggests passage and crossing whilst marking the limit.
